We are not from Melbourne. Just looking to kill some time and have a drink. A good choice of beer 🍻 to choose from. Second time we've been there now. A cool vibe about the place 😎

The staff here are nice and helpful. The food was reasonably priced. A good pub to have a pub meal

I popped in for a quick schooner on a quiet Sunday walk and asked the bar lady for a schooner of Stella. She said they only had pots and pints, even though there is an advert on the bar advertising $8 Furphy Schooners during the football. 🤷

I said a pot was fine. However, even before she went to pour it, she said "we're out of Stella" 🤦

Anyway, I moved on and asked "do you have Draught". Reply was yes, Boags, which I had.

So it wasn't a great experience overall and given the choices in the immediate vicinity, it's probably best to choose elsewhere. I will next time.

The exterior facade of this hotel looks impressive because it looks like an old heritage preserved building. I particularly love the interior of its male toilet too, as the decor is creative & fun. Every time whenever we visit this local pub, we'd certainly order their porterhouse as well as the fish & chips while enjoying a beer or two.

Hot tip from a friend of mine lead myself and some associates here for a after work dinner.
Menu variety- great
Customer service - excellent, friendly, accommodating.
Layout and vibe- great

Food- I ordered a schnitzel with chips and vegetables.
Everything was under cooked.
Vegetables - like eating frozen
Chips - crunchy in the middle like still frozen
Schnitzel- tough and under cooked, tough to chew.
Garlic Butter - tough.

Garlic Bread - Very good.

My party all got chips, which were left untouched, so consistent with the chip theme.

Clearly my experience is not what most Google reviwers found, so perhaps just a Monday night thing.

Came to the Quarry Hotel fairly early on a random Monday night, maybe not the best time to take a pub's temperature.

Inside was a bit quiet, but the bar staff were friendly and made us feel welcome.

First time there so we decided to go with the classics and ordered up a chicken parma and a cheeseburger.

The parma was cheesy in all the right ways, but the chicken was a tad thin. Chips were decent, but the slaw was a bit lackluster. Im not one to turn my nose up at a good slaw but you gotta stick to what works a parma - a good lettuce, tomato and cucumber-based salad with a tangy vinaigrette may have been the better answer here.

The burger was also middling - not terrible, but not great either. It's a tough sell when you've got better burgers a short stumble away at B.East.

Inside definitely has a bit of character and I liked the vintage furniture. Would be nice with a packed crowd and a good footy game to watch, but was bit bleak on a quiet Monday night.

Overall, worth checking out, but we're not exactly itching to make a return trip.

The Parma here is defs in my top 5 of the best I've ever eaten! It is a monster, it is not a good idea to buy starters before tackling this guy, best to skip lunch so you can fully enjoy the experience. Heaps of street parking around and food didn't take long to come out either. Will be back for more parmas.
