A lovely & cozy underground Melbourne pub with an English vibe.
Would love to have tried the meals proper but we weren't so hungry so just had snacks which were great.
Awesome service too from ladies behind the bar.
Definitely coming back next time we're in Melbourne. 😀

Went here for lunch, had Scotch fillet steak and chips with salad. The steak which came with peppercorn sauce was perfectly done, chips crunchy and freshly cooked and salad refreshing. They are well seasoned and well proportioned not to mention decent portions. They are well seasoned and didn't need any salt or pepper.Drinks menu are varied and plenty to choose from.

The venue clean and cozy. Staffs helpful and service quick. The price is proportion to quality and serving portion. Easy to get to by tram via Collins and William St. and even Elizabeth if happy to walk a short distance.

Will definitely come back to try the roast meal. Shame the venue isn't open on Sundays (great Sunday roast would be perfect).

There is stairs to go down not good with prams or wheelchair, however, I believe there's also seatings street level.

I have never been to a pub in England, but from the few movies and TV shows that I have watched, I imagine they're all like this one. It's a tiny pub, but not cramped - it's cozy. It's filled with references to Sherlock Holmes - from the signs and messages on the wall to the menu. There's a very British feel in the air with all the old prints of British Navy ships hung on the walls.

They beer/ale selection was good!

The food, unfortunately, didn't seem to have any flavour. The chicken Parma seemed to rely only on the cheese and sauce to provide flavour. The chicken itself didn't have any salt.
The nachos we ordered were nice.

All in all, it's a great place to come in with a bunch of your mates and have a few drinks and grab some food before heading home. It's not a place I would recommend to come in only for the food.

This pub is located in the ground floor (basement) and gives old English pub vibes. We visited with our team for lunch. The food was fantastic and the ambience was great. Would recommend if you are around Melbourne cbd.
