Really impressed with this venue. Not only was it open for dinner on a Monday night but the meals were reasonably priced and decent in size!
Great friendly service and quality meals.

While I was participating in the rerun of the 1969 southern cross over 5 days me and my friend and a number of other competitors had the pleasure of staying at this particular hotel/ motel at Lismore for one night I found the staff very friendly and excellent and helpful to deal with the customer service was also very good as well as the accommodation we stayed in and the food was delicious and I would like to personally thank the staff for a great meal I would also like to highly recommend the hotel to everyone who is in Lismore for a enjoyable time thanks again �'�

Not much of an option for vegetarian lunch but that's expected with such a small local population.
I liked the environment, I would enjoy coming back for drinks. The man behind the bar was very friendly and fun.

Had a wedding out the back of the Sherwood. It was decorated so lovely. Most people liked the food. I'm a fussy eater so wasn't a lot that I liked. I thought it was a great place for our function. I couldn't fault it. Only complaint some guests had was that there wasn't enough bar staff. I would definitely recommend the Sherwood for a nice intimate function.

Our group of 8 people made a booking for dinner on a Saturday night. When we went to the bar to order food, they told us there would be a 20 minute wait, because they had a function and the kitchens were overloaded. So instead of taking our orders, they told us to go away and come back when the kitchen was freed up. 20 minutes turned into 40, but we finally got to order food and it came out at a reasonable time afterwards. Food was nice, slightly above average pub food.

Nice place to have a drink and a meal. Staff very friendly.
One issue though is that is a table in the front section which has a carpet underneath it which is curled up on the edge creating a significant trip hazard. I actually tripped over it.
I pointed this out to the staff on duty. Returned a week or so later, still there! Someone is going to get hurt! My suggestion is to get rid of it.

My review is very mixed.

We had a function booked & we had it booked for some time.

About a week before we had the Sherwood calling us telling us unless we had a certain amount of ppl we would have to cancel it..

We had the right amount so that's fine.

Come on the day the weather wasn't the best to have where we originally booked so we were kindly offered a private room inside.

This was very kind of the staff and we appreciated it lots.

The issues we have -
They missed half our meals.
We had patrons not included in our event walking in & out of the function room and had a few sit in there to try & have lunch etc.. even after asking if we could put a sign of some description up. Which didn't happen.
Service was very slow. We had to stand at the bar for quite some time to be served
The lighting in the room is very poor
The booking process was a bit of a stuff around
Communication was not there.

Can't get in any other pub or Cafe.
Enough for.4people easily.

Usually love going for drinks here. However, tonight was served a raw chicken schnitzel and when we let them know politely, the wait staff came back to say "yes, we will remake it in 20 mins" we then decided to get a refund to which the wait staff seemed fussed and replied that the chef said it was simply a vein. The chicken was cut down the middle and side and was clearly pink. Not sure if the chef needs some new glasses or not, but it would have been fine if we got a polite and honest response. It's worthy to mention that when we were leaving a couple sat down and looked at the menu before stating "let's actually go to Mary G's the food is never nice here" and then left.

We had a great family 21st Birthday get together 4 generations and our dog. She kept the children entertained in the playground area just behind our table in the courtyard. Was good to see staff very busy. Lismore on the way back from the last disastrous flood. Hard to find a park.

If I could give zero stars or even minus I would.
Arrived. Photos on the website do not match the room.
Could not get the hot water in the shower to work. Still paid hundreds of dollars to stay. Wouldve been more comfortable pitching a tent. Do not reccomend. Don't waste your money.

Service was good, location was good, however the chicken snitzel was the worst I have had in 40 plus years. Not sure if it was left in the sun, 12 months old, or cooked for 3 days straight ... either way, it was inedible.

Recommend trying something else.

Great value food with good vegan and other options to keep everyone happy. Standard prices for cocktails but more generously sized than most places. Staff were lovely, nice to see Lismore buzzing!

Vegan linguine was tasty af, cocktails really good, will dine here again for sure! Hard to get an impressive vegan main anywhere but the linguine here is fantastic ??'?

Thank you for the delicious meal we had this evening. 1 X steak & veges, and 1 by pumpkin salad with barramundi fish. Absolute outstanding meals & friendly service, Thank you to all the staff ?

I was extremely disappointed to say the least with the lack of management.

My father and I ordered our meals today (Thai salad & pork belly bites) at the bar served by a young man.
There was no cutlery at the bar so the young gentlemen said he would get some and bring them to the table (never happened).

We watched meal after meal being cooked and sat waiting on the counter to be handed out for over 5 minutes.
(2 staff members were at the empty bar while food was getting cold for this duration)

We had 3 lots of food come to our table that wasn't ours.

My pork belly bites sat on the counter for 6 minutes while the staff were floating around.
Finally the lady brought my meal but no cutlery which I waited for when my fathers meal was cooked which was 10 minutes apart.

My fathers meal then sat on the counter for the same duration till my father had enough and went and got his own food and cutlery.

By this time my food was stone cold!

This didn't stop more food coming to our table however.

The female staff was lovely and was always doing something however the young man I wouldn't pay to watch him drag his feet around and needs to be trained for a fast paced industry.

This was only while there was 3 tables to serve I would hate to see what they do when it's busy.

I must say the chefs done a great job with cooking but was let down majorly by other staff and their inability to get the food out hot.

Best schnitzel hands down. Beers on happy hour. Can't beat it. Decent rooms but aircon takes a while to get going.

Found the Sherwood fitted out well but a little noisy for my liking, probably due to the large number of children throughout the bars. The staff was pleasant and attentive. My wife and I both had the rump steak. My wife's meal was cooked well although a little on the tough side. My meal was cooked medium rare ,spot on and flavours excellent.Unfortunately the cut of meat was so tough and full of gristle that I had to leave 90% of it on the plate.the rest was nice enough that I am willing to give it 1 more try.

We unexpectantly found ourselves in Lismore late at night without accommodation until we found The Sherwood Hotel. Their staff went above and beyond to secure a room for us. To top things off the food was amazing. Thank you Team Sherwood for everything you did for us!

We were travelling from Sydney to Brisbane when we decided to stay at Lismore, it was our first time, we agreed to go to the Sherwood for dinner, and here we go the food was absolutely top, everything was fresh and delicious, I have had the best rump steak and fish and chips in my whole life, highly recommend and looking forward to visit again. Good job to the chef.

I visited this place because I saw it on the Netflix show "Gods Favorite Idiot". I had the chicken schnitzel, mash potatoes and veggies and it was fantastic! Probably the best piece of chicken breast I've ever had. The portion was huge. Even the ketchup was bursting with flavor! I was hungry and still had leftovers. I definitely recommend this place.

It's a nice looking establishment.
The staff were friendly and the food service was quick. We had the $40 scotch fillet and chilli prawn linguine. Portion sizes isn't what you'd expect at a pub.
The steak tasted burnt, the vegetables were average at best. My partner ate half of her pasta and was disappointed.
We tried their house brewed craft beers and they literally taste like it's been contaminated with mechanical grease, something isn't right.
We went somewhere else afterwards and enjoyed much tastier food and beer with nice music.
We won't go back unless we have to.

Went there for a lunch today as the kitchen close at 2.30pm. We were expecting pub food and that what we get. Good size, good taste and good price. Also good choice of beers. Can only recommend it !

Great quality room for the price. Clean, comfortable bed and quality bedding. Decent chicken schnitzel. Mugs for tea and coffee are too small not standard size. I would stay there again.

So glad this place has reopened with all of its former charm.
I recommend everyone tries their steaks. I don't know where they get them from, but I want them for home! Genuinely some of the best I've ever had in my life.
Always great chats and banter from the staff and a fantastic selection of beers and wines.
Best pub for dinner in Lismore.

Motel room was clean & comfy. Great atmosphere in the pub. Food was delicious. Staff are so friendly & welcoming. Definitely recommended �'�

A great addition to the pub scene in Lismore. Great selection of beers and I enjoyed an entre of pork belly in cider that was delicious. Very comfortable seats to relax in. Highly recommended! May take over my allegiance from Mary G's

Stayed 1 night, the room small but well appointed, clean and bathroom spotless. Would not pay any more than I did for the room and not a boutique hotel. Basic, comfortable, budget. Did not try the dining room as it was to expensive for me but looked very nice. Worth a visit and if you just want a reasonable priced place to sleep a good choice.

Surprisingly awesome food here. The pub itself is good, cold beer, good selection and friendly service. It has a few different sections. Located on the side is a great restaurant it looks like almost fine dining. The wine list is extensive. However the food was sensational.

Popped into The Sherwood on Saturday night and was blown away with the establishment.
It's a large yet cozy and well designed space. All the staff were incredibly friendly and super knowledgeable.
Impressive craft beer selection and the cocktails are heavenly (trust me I tried three, maybe four). I've tasted a few margaritas in my time however, the coconut margarita was pure magic.
Lismore is lucky to have an awesome family run pub like The Sherwood Hotel. Definitely check it out if your in Lismore.
