If you're not been to the Sir George before you'll be amazed. The old hotel has been beautifully restored and the grounds are really extensive and very well maintained. The food is top notch. My family managed to try just about everything on the menu. It's was all delicious but for me the fish and the hamburger were standouts (the on site bakery makes the burger buns). Don't order the double cheese burger if you aren't hungry. Of the sides, the braised Sugarloaf, roast potatoes and beetroot salad were all lovely.

What a find! Stopped off on the way from Sydney to Hay and this was the perfect place for lunch. Great indoor and outdoor spaces and the food was top notch.

How things change. Visited here before Covid, so friendly and we had a great experience. Brought a friend here and we have never been so rudely treated. It was absolutely disgusting. Ordered two large wines and a beer. Only had enough for one large wine so he offered an alternative which we accepted. What he didn't say was it was $10 a glass MORE. With the surcharge $26.50 for one large glass. When we asked why they didn't tell us the price difference he said he did. He definitely did not. We said it wasn't right to do that without disclosing the price and then it started, he was abrupt, spoke to the other waitress in another language ( this in itself is absolutely disgraceful, how ignorant is that ) snatched the expensive glass back and gave us a $16 glass of wine whilst continuing to rubbish us in another language, didn't have the courage to do it in English. Absolutely disgusting, how rude speaking in another language like that. Spoke perfectly good English when he took our order. Our first experience here 5 years ago was amazing. The food looked nice today, expensive though but after this disgusting behavior we had one drink and will never come back. Such a shame.

Long story short, stayed for a night there with dinner, breakfast is included and around the minibar.
Pros:
1. One of the best restaurants probably you can find between Sydney and Melbourne
2. Lots of space for kids and dogs
3. A small green house with flowers for sell
4. Lots of tables but still recommend booking in advance
5. Room is well designed with spacious bathroom
6. Staff is friendly

Cons:
1. When my room designated parking was taken. The manager basically just let me find another parking, that's fine but still what's the purpose for designated parking?
2. The shade hanging on the top of room entrance door does not fully cover the embedded window, which makes it awkward, one staff helped put a bed sheet to cover the window at night and the manager did apologized and compensated us the next morning.
3. There were basically a dozen mosquitos in the room, given the room ceiling is really high, it's impossible to reach all mosquitoes, but at least those mosquitoes were kind enough to leave us alone during the sleep :/

We called in to this place in Jugiong on recommendation by my brother and sister in law about the jam factory. Unfortunately the jam factory next door was closed but the hotel was open thank goodness. So glad we visited. Very accommodating service. Love the environment, very lovely having a snack and coffee under the canopy of greenery in the courtyard.
Would imagine a beautiful wedding destination here. So the grounds are so beautiful

We had to make an emergency stop and had been recommended The Sir George. It certainly lived up to the recommendation. The staff and booking service were incredibly helpful, from attending to certain requests to checking on arrival time to ensure we got dinner. The restaurant was excellent. Good selection of food and wine, and good cocktails. The steaks were excellent, as were the potatoes, beans and Basque cheesecake. Room was well stocked and comfortable. Highly recommended.

We had a few drinks and a meal here. Other than a very overcooked chip, the meal was great and this place is stunning. The grounds are just beautiful and the interior is so lovely. You wouldn't know it is here, definitely a place to visit.

Gorgeous pub with beautiful gardens and stunning surrounds. Stop in for a drink which was lovely. A little pricey for a country pub, but had a good atmosphere with clean facilities. Would expect to pay those prices in a fancy place in Sydney. Overall a nice little stop to quench our thirst.

Meals typical Pub fare..
Parkas, Schnitzels both had amazing crumb ...
Hamburger Al.ost is perfect ... not so large you had to deconstruct to eat, however a too much sauce for my liking perhaps ...
Fries were not great ... my guess is that the deep fryer needs to be cleaned out more often to have a better end result ... considering the high turnover of fried foods at the venue.
Beautiful ambience ... lovely grounds ...

Fantastic place, beautifully restored. Lovely grounds. Food was fantastic, it almost arrived to quick if that's possible. Dog friendly. Would come back for sure. Only a short detour from the highway and way better than servo food.

I had the most incredible stay at Sir George Accommodation in Jugiong. My partner and I were blown away by the impeccable design and attention to detail throughout the property. The luxurious linens and incredibly comfortable beds made our stay truly indulgent.

The staff were beyond exceptional, going out of their way to accommodate our late check-in after our journey from Sydney. The thoughtful texts and emails with directions made our arrival seamless and safe. We were welcomed into a cozy space with a delightful surprise - a complimentary breakfast in the fridge and a freshly baked loaf from the onsite bakery.

The spacious and well-designed bathroom added to the charm of the accommodation. Although there's no sink in the kitchenette, the water and tea/coffee facilities provided were well-thought-out. The overall experience was a perfect blend of luxury and comfort, making it an ideal choice for a restful night's stay in the countryside.

The property's old pub and charming country boutique added to the unique atmosphere. The bakery's delectable options, especially the must-try doughnuts, were a delightful treat.

Although some patrons struggled with parking, that shouldn't overshadow the wonderful experience Sir George Accommodation offers. It's a true gem for anyone seeking a relaxing and lavish country getaway.

We're a group of 6 who meet at the Sir George six monthly. Yesterday we ate inside, nice and warm. Each of us had something from the specials board. No complaints, flavoursome. The cake/donut/desert selection and flavours were tempting tasty treats that also satisfied

Like an oasis in a desert, this pub is such a treasure in the most unassuming of places. Beautiful building and grounds, great drinks and staff. The food however is absolutely off chops.
Burger is unreal.
Fish, increàb.
Sugar loaf, I love you!
But the let me say, I have literally never had better olive bread in my life.
They have pulled off such a cool thing here, well done to them all.
Please keep it going.

We were delighted to return here after getting engaged in the grounds the previous week. Stayed overnight and had dinner. Rooms are beautifully appointed, the beds are heavenly. We were so touched by the efforts the staff went to to make the occasion; we had fresh hand picked flowers on our table, a handwritten card and a complimentary bottle of champagne.
Dinner was delicious - perfect duck liver parfait; crispy lamb croquettes; with a gorgeous trout and steak for main. Perfectly cooked, tasty and generous portions. The staff were personable and chatty.
Overall a beautiful stay that had us feeling spoiled and loved up!

Beautiful setting in and around the old historic pub. Plenty of seating but you need to book. The outdoor areas are well kept and look inviting, with plenty of cool shade.
Public area and toilets were functional and clean
Food is very well presented and smaller portion sized. Unfortunately the price did not reflect the portion size or the service provided by the seemingly annoyed staff. One of our party ordered a Medium Rare steak and received medium well.
The variety of beers is also good, but, alas, horrendously overpriced.
But that won't stop the surcharges.
If you're part of a large group (8 or more) you'll cop a 10% surcharge. If you're visiting on a Sunday you'll cop an additional 10% surcharge. Public holidays are an additional 15%. Pay by card and cop an additional 1.5%.
I don't mind paying top dollar for a great food and drink experience, but what we got here would be best described as "Country Service at City Prices"

Well... for the atmosphere, beautiful gardens, kids play area and bar service, this place still deserves two stars.
The food!!! Well...
The entree of duck liver parfait was previously a standout dish we always began our dinner with. It DID not meet expectation! Bitter, incorrect consistency and a foul jelly. Pardon the pun but it was foul.
We complained about the Parfait to the waitress and was met with a vague look, and no apologies or an offer for a replacement.
Saturday night, three meals we wanted to order were not available and this is at 6pm.
Chicken schnitzels came out and they were half the size they normally were and my 6 year old could have presented them better!

Fancy names and fancy prices for standard food. Not happy jan! I recommend trying the hotel down the road for a chicken schnitzel. Sorry to be blunt and leave such a negative review but when complaining doesn't even received a simple "I'm very sorry about that" I feel I have no option.

Just off the Hume Hwy is this little gem. The pub has been renovated but still maintains it's original unique features. The food is great and the staff will do anything for you including making a mocktail even if they have no idea what to make. They will still give it a go.
The accommodation out the back of the hotel is fantastic! You can choose either a stable or barn room. We had the stable room and it was a pleasure to stay in.
Bonus is breakfast included and a complimentary drink on arrival.
The downside was that because there is nothing around and the hotel hours are short there is no one to answer any after hours questions. I needed more milk in the morning and there wasn't anyone to help. I had to drive down to the service station to get some more.
Overall the place is great!! Highly recommend.

Stopped got a EV charge. I went over for a meal..pleasantly surprised. Had the chicken snitzel, delicious & very reasonable price. Menu had a varied selection to choose from. Eating inside or outside in courtyard. Received meal within 20 min of order. Worth calling in again when in the area.

We were driving from Melbourne to Sydney and wanted good food. Saw this on the map and had an unexpectedly wonderful meal and experience at this location. Forgot to take photos but the ones in the other reviews are perfect. Rolling hills, a lovely beer garden, quaint shopping. Perfection.

Following a recommendation from a friend, my boyfriend and I passed by this location on our road trip. This was our first visit to the location.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our meals. Everything tasted excellent and was cooked to perfection.
When we take another road trip, we will definitely return.

Met here with my kids who travelled from Canberra. It was a cold day but we were really cosy in the enclosure outside with the heater. Lunch was magnificent, actually liked the new owners menu better than the last. Service was great and had a little look in the gift shop. Highly recommend

This place was amazing. We stopped through on our way to Victoria from NSW. Very very busy place. All the staff where lovely and helpful.
We sat outside undercover with gas heaters, all the meals arrived together. Absolutely beautiful, very filling. Lots of options & Gluten free as well. Different price options too.
Would love to go back again and have more time to take in the beautiful area.
A big thanks to all of the staff. This is definitely on the list to return.

The pub has great interiors, good selection of beer and local wines. The food is excellent! A good choice from a printed menu and then there are blackboard specials. One or two vegetarian options - I didn't ask but I wouldn't be surprised if they could adapt some of their offerings to vego, especially if you give them some notice. Great food
Highly recommended. Definitely a destination pub!

This has to be one of my absolute favourite weekend escapes ever! The perfect spot to switch off for a weekend with everything you need. Delicious brekkie brought to your room, high end amenities, gorgeous interiors and landscaping, yummy food, lovely gift shop and you must get yourself a jam donut! Can't wait to return.

I stopped for lunch while traveling. I want to bring the family here for an afternoon, or perhaps a stay over.
I chose chicken terrine from the specials board. It was a well laid out, adequately sized, and tasty serve.
Well done.

Amazing place to sit in or out. They have a small dog friendly area under the beautiful shady trees. We ordered the soft crab burger and chicken burger with a pint of capital pale ale each. Food was to die for, good chips and ordering on the app worked well and avoided the queue inside. Food isn't cheap but is worth it. The pub itself is gorgeous and well worth a look around inside.

Now one year later and sadly a decline. One rude waitress, beverage didn't arrive, she doubted it had been ordered!!!!! And wanted us to wait for it to be made while our meals sat on our table. Food was lukewarm to start with and schnitzels greasy. Not sure if owners in attendance today, but we won't be back for a while.

We love the Co owner Kim! He had us laughing right from the start!!!!!! We love that the Lamb on the menu is from Kim's farm.
The meals........ four of us cleaned our plates!!!!!!!!!!!! Best food we've tasted for ages!
Kim gave us an historical tour of the Sir George which was fascinating!
The grounds outside are spectacular......a vegetable garden, children's play area, farm animals and now some accommodation of 4 star quality!

Very lovely (but expensive) pieces for the house.
