The Standard Hotel is a charming pub, warm and inviting with a beautifully decorated interior and a massive heated beer garden. We snagged a spot next to the open fireplace, adding a cozy touch to our visit.

We started with a bottle of rosé, snacking on olives and focaccia while eagerly awaiting our chicken parmigianas. The parmas didn't disappoint; hefty free-range chicken breast with a perfectly crisp crumb, topped with prosciutto, Napoli sauce, mozzarella, and even feta. Served with a fresh salad and crispy chips, it was a fantastic meal. The use of prosciutto in place of the traditional ham was a standout twist.

This Parma definitely ranks in our top 5! Overall, a great pub feed in a hidden gem of a pub and once you find it, you'll keep coming back.

We came with a small group of friends for ANZAC day to watch the AFL. The pub inside is pretty standard, with the bar in the middle. Staff are friendly but had to deal with the greater volume of orders which meant they could be a bit brusque. The schnitzel ordered was great, well fried and crispy. The beer garden is decently sized but we had to keep moving tables as apparently they were booked for the gametime despite no one showing up. The crowd outside seemed a bit disinterested in the game which dried up the atmosphere. Overall a nice place in Fitzroy with good food and drinks but lacked a buzzing atmosphere.

Just a brilliant pub. Had my birthday party there with a bunch of family and friends last night and it was perfect. Full of random conversations and happy people moving through the place. Great staff. Great layout. No wonder the beer garden has been voted the best in Melbourne. Just go there.

I love pies and the pastry on the steak and bacon pie was just the best . Potato mash was amazing. Thank you. Great friendly staff. Great mid-week pub ?

Had a 1pm lunch on a Wednesday, was quiet but service fantastic and the meals were perfect in the surprisingly huge sunlit beer garden. Great little front bar area where locals start to filter in around 3, friendly staff. Will definitely be going back.

Nice atmospheric pub with good food from the standard menu or a list of 5 or so specials. We visited when it wasn't very warm but outdoor seating in yard was still more popular, also due to some heating. There are tables for 2 or for large groups. Some guests seemed to spend very long time here during the afternoon and I can see why. Staff was very friendly, too

Had a function there on Sat, and had a seamless experience after booking a large space 10 weeks out. Great staff kept up with the entire venue during an interesting weather day. Thank you.

Good classic Melbourne pub. Good but not enormous beer selection. Nice outdoor beergarden with heaters/cover depending on season. A friend who is a regular swears by the Parma. I saw the cheeseburger come by and it looked great. I had the steak sandwich which contained a good steak (not slices but whole, yet easy to bite off without needing cutlery), great bread and sauce. Worth reserving a table on busier days.

Hi just reaching out to tell you guys that you have completely ruined my life. I visited your establishment the other day just looking to wet my whistle (that means enjoy a drink) but was very upset when I realised my innocent trip to the pub would leave me feeling empty for the rest of my life. Why? Because I saw the most beautiful girl working there. There are plenty of beautiful girls and guys in the world and that's great. But to see someone so beautifully crafted by the gods isn't a good thing. It's completely messed with my head. She was a kind of short girl with blond hair and black skirt. From this point onwards my notion of beauty has been changed and I don't even know if I can be happy seeing another girl knowing that angels do walk among us. Why does an angel even need to work? Most people work to put food on the table and put a roof over their heads. Angels don't even need to eat and they sleep in heaven floating on clouds so what is the point in her even having a job?

Anyway good service and nice beer garden. Thanks for your hospitality

Food was good and the pub has a nice atmosphere both inside and out. I can't give a higher rating because we were in a big group and two of the meals didn't arrive. Three reminders later we finally got them.

6? parma, really could have come with hand cut chips though, according to caine. Cheese burger was also 10/9 it was filling , flavoursome & fresh. Beers, old school pissa. Everything nostalgic about this place. I just love it. Open beer garden with and impressive 137 seats available. Bar staff we great to talk with, friend and funny. If you have a local somewhere else, come here and make this ya local....

Looked like a busy Saturday night and food came out prompt and was excellent! Beer garden was amazing and excellent atmosphere. Staff friendly and professional. One of the best pubs in Melbourne
