The Tasmanian Inn, Hobart TAS

Things to know: Staff members are friendly and shown to your room. The rooms are very basic (not even a tissue box in the room), but they are clean with fresh towels on arrival. The bathroom and toilet are SHARED amongst the guests. Definitely bring shower sandals. If you choose the room with the patio you should note that the music from the pub plays on the patio until quite late - they kindly tried to turn it off but it's all one music system. It's a great place if you're just looking for somewhere to sleep as a solo traveller or couple.

The old pub has been refurbished and the lovely fitted out dining room was packed on this Friday night.

Very pleased to see beef, chicken and vego options along with a parmi.
All in all a good experience once the beef schnitzel had to be returned due to a questionable taste, staff handled the return well, providing a replacement chicken schnitzel and a freebie wine.

We came to the Inn for dinner with the family. 2d4c.
My husband had the porterhouse, I had the innkeeper parmigiana, the kids had the cheeseburger and we ordered fries and the chicken from the starter for the younger ones.
Absolutely delicious. And the chicken from started was amazing! My hubby and I ended up eating most of that.

Best value pub meal, excellent meals, awesome staff and service. We've been back here regularly for a year now, so it's high time we left a review.

They serve the best chips we've ever eaten. Seriously...the best! Their meals are always a good portion size, and they are always willing to swap in / swap out sides. The range of food for pub meals are spot on, and we've just about had every main over a year. You will not be left disappointed!

The service has always been first class and has a real personal touch. They never get rattled, even if it gets busy. We tested them out just recently with two tables of 8. Could not believe that, even though it was fairly busy, all the two tables of meals arrived one after the other and in good time too. Amazing work in the kitchen!

Oh I noted someone mentioned a sticky table. We eat out a lot and it's very common, because it is the disinfectant. Pubs are no longer allowed under the Tas Food Safety regulations to wipe tables with bar towels, sticky tables are everywhere and good thing too!

Stayed 5 nights at the Inn and couldn't have been happier. Great location, clean rooms with lots of natural light, and super friendly staff. Highly reccomended. Make sure to say hi to Annie if you call in.
