Stayed for 4 nights. Friendly people to deal with. Room was nice. Heating worked great. Location was great, close to public transportation. Laundry machines worked well.

Reasonably priced hotel in a good location in the CBD. Reception staff are polite and helpful. Beds are comfortable with high quality linens. Two minor issues- although bar states 4pm to late, I was denied entry at 10pm. Lastly the wifi diminishes to near non existent the further you are from reception. Get a booster.
If in the CBD, would stay here again.

Stayed there for a weekend in Melb. Location is good but I got not sleep. The walls were so thin that when a noisy group in room next door came in at 1 pm I could hear every word and swearing. After two hours of this I rang front desk and asked them to ring the room and ask them to be quiet. Nothing was done. After three calls over one hour I gave up. The neighbours went to sleep at 4.45am.

I had 3 hours sleep and the rest of the weekend was a struggle as I was too tired.

I asked for compensation when I checked out. I was told the manager would ring me.

No one contacted me. I rang again after two days. More promises but no contact.

There are better options. Even if you need to pay more do it. Do not risk your holiday.

The Victoria Hotel is stuck between two eras. The was a time I imagine it was the height of luxury, although not so much now, it has managed to retain its charm.
Good place to stay especially due to location, although you do feel you are on a bit of adventure going to your room, as the hotel seems to go between a few different buildings. Nevertheless, the fit out looks good.

Absolutely beautiful and the old time luxury feel. Visited before a concert event for a few drinks and snack. Snack was enough to feed two adults and service was lovely. Cozy alcove to sit and chatter. Reminded me of older and sophisticated times. Just lovely.

I've stayed here multiple times and have always been happy. The beds and pillows are comfortable. Room clean. I like the small gym. Wish the pool was bigger and more like a lap pool. But the kids loved it! Really great service at reception.

I've been coming here since 2009. Best location, quiet, fabulous service. Always a great price. It's not a 5 star hotel but it is clean and comfortable. Great value buffet breakfast.

Great place to stay while visiting. Location is right in the city and close to multiple tram stops and Parliament train station. The room was clean and had a nice vibe, and the bathroom was great. Check-in was also very easy. You can also easily get here from the airport as the Skybus terminates at Southern Cross station which is only a 10 minute walk away.

Old but neat, clean, nice entrance and working lifts and the staff are nice

No real bells and whistles (no complimentary toothbrush/toothpaste, and no bathtub) at least for the room I booked but it's a fantastic location and noise was not an issue for me (probably because I was hidden away in a corridor a few twists and turns away from anywhere central to the lifts or anywhere else really) but I can see how it would be - did hear a few faint conversations despite not being close to anyone else from what I could tell.

Mattresses are very soft - this was very comfortable for me because it felt like I was floating, but it might not be comfortable for people who need more support. It was just right for me though!

We stayed at the Victoria Hotel for 3 nights. Great location and the add on for buffet breakfast is a must. We were put in a room on the first floor where they were doing some renovations. Outside our window there were bins in an alleyway and could hear everytime someone chucked something in there. We were also right on the corner so could hear people throughout the hallways, the elevators and the chute. Wasn't a very peaceful first night. However I did ask to change rooms on the second day and the staff were more than happy to and made it super easy. The pool/ spa/ gym was closed for renovations so be aware when booking. Overall an okay stay, the rooms were small but were fine for our quick trip.

We stayed in a 3 single bed room for 3 night with a tiny bathroom. The view from the window was the side of another apartment building and the shower in the bathroom had no pressure what so ever. But the service was excellent and the buffet breakfast was the best I have had for a while. Overall, would come back!!

Had the most beautiful stay, rooms are clean and tidy. But the restaurant and bar staff are so kind and accommodating, we ended up eating and drinking there most days because it was a lovely environment. 10 stars in my book

Fantastic value for money. We stayed 4 nights. Room was large with excellent heating for winter, clea and comfortable.. The hotel is a little worn but that reflects in the very affordable price. Plenty of elevators which I love. The location is perfect everything in Melbourne is easy to walk to. Service was good our housekeeper was very helpful and friendly.

Even though we had booked a twin bed room, the beds were king singles so plenty of space. Very clean and tidy. Plenty of space in the room itself.
It was just missing a fridge to store little bits of food and drink. Buffet breakfast was absolutely delicious and plentiful. The selection of food was awesome. Great value for money at only $22 if booked ahead of time. Will definitely stay here again when in the city!

We had a terrific stay here recently. The staff went out of their way to celebrate my daughter's birthday, the hotel room was clean, the toiletries were great, the showers were hot, the beds were really comfy and the buffet breakfast was delicious and great value. The location of the hotel was excellent too. We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay here. Very clean, beds were very comfortable. Housekeeping were so polite and happy to help us. Buffet breakfast looked fantastic and great price as well. Parking was also easy to access and find. Will definitely be coming back here!

A great place to stay on city visits close to a lot of attractions lots in walking distance. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly, cleaning staff very helpful. Happy hour was a plus and buffet breakfast was beautiful. The only let down was the lobby was freezing so to the mezzanine floor where the bar is so couldn't sit there to enjoy our drinks, the bar was warmer. I will definitely be back and recommend to my family and friends.

This was one of the best hotels we've stayed at in Melbourne. Guest service is top notch, the room(we got a king size) was spacious, bed was super comfortable, loved having the black out curtains and the hotel its self has a lot of character. Quite surprised on how quiet it was as well!
Bar and restaurant were lovely and the Location cannot be beat
Only con would be the pool size as its only waist height, however due to this hotel being like almost 100+years makes sense and its nice to sit in and cool off.
Definitely will go back next time in Melbourne

Staff were super helpful, friendly and solved an Agoda problem. Room was quiet and well fitted out. Fresh smell of paint in the hotel shows they are keeping it up to date. Staff are super friendly and excellent. Location is terrific. Quiet at night. Close to everything. Highly recommend.

This was a solid place to stay. Great location with good coffee just up the street. I was able to check in early which I was super excited about, and my room was clean & straightforward, nothing exceptional. The pool on the top floor is nice, but super small. The general areas could use a little upkeep and modernization, but it was definitely a good value and I would consider staying again.

We had two rooms, one with two single beds and one with queen bed. Both rooms were clean and comfortable, with nicely renovated shower.
There is a good buffet breakfast available daily at reasonable cost.
The hotel is a walking distance from the trams and 10 minutes walk to the train station.
The team have made our stay exceptional. We have arrived way before the standard check-in time, and still the team was able to accommodate us immediately and give us two comfortable rooms earlier than expected.

Stayed here over the weekend, just the one night.
Rooms were pleasant, however I'm sure the A/C & Heating just didn't work. The water pressure wasn't great in the shower. However, the beds were comfy and overall the room was good.

Upon arrival the bloke on customer service was ELITE. Check out though, that lady needs a bit more respect. Breakfast bang average, and waited 20+ minutes for a basic hot chocolate. I had nearly finished my food and ready to go back to my room... regardless it was decent.

Room was nice and big and clean. Would be five stars only the layout was a little odd and the lift situation was confusing. But they were clean and comfortable. Never figured out what the weird noise was in the walls (presume plumbing?). Service was great. Friendly and professional. Can't beat the location. So central and so quiet.

Stayed in a twin room which was perfect for a weekend stay. Room was clean and comfortable for 2 people. It only loses a star as the heating didn't work but it was comfortable for sleeping. Was surprisingly quiet given we were across the hall from the lifts. The staff we encountered were all really pleasant and I would recommend staying here. Great price for what we got.

It is good if you want the basics. Location is convenient to have access to the city, rooms smell like a hospital and cheap air freshener and the service is good. It feels and looks like its been treated more like a backpacker facility with hotel equivalent bedding but its definitely a budget friendly place the guests were the best part of stay as we met people in elevators.

Simple, clean, comfortable, low cost and great location. What more could you want?!

Unless you're spending your trip to Melbourne solely in your hotel room, this place is great.. Spend the money you save on the incredible dining choices in the nearby area.

This hotel is in a handy spot in Melbourne, close to trams, shops and a lot of good eating places.
It is close to China Town and a lot of things to look at, it is an easy walk to the Queen Victoria Markets.
My room was clean and I found the staff to be helpful and friendly.
I would not have any problem staying here again

Rooms are a little older but neat, tidy and super clean. Staff are super friendly as well. Internet is a little slow some times but you don't notice that much. Amazing location though if you prefer to walk places. Most great things are within a 30 min walk or tram rides are everywhere and free.

Stayed here with a friend for three nights. Stylish, well located, and comfortable hotel. Well priced and immaculately presented rooms. Cocktails in the bar were lovely and food in restaurant also looked delicious. Staff were professional and helpful. Will definitely recommend to friends and go back to stay again.
