The Wharf Hotel Wynyard, Wynyard TAS

Place is acceptable but not the cleanest. Is is just beside the main street and is in the middle of the Tulip festival food street. It is above a pub so will be noisy when there is a band playing but they do wrap up at 10pm.

The food was amazing 😀 and friendly customers service with all the staff. We have the chicken and kids pizza meal and it was cooked juicy, fresh, perfect crispy chicken breast.

I've gotta say, I was very disappointed with my 3 night stay at this hotel. Which is a shame because they have great food in their restaurant. Firstly the room had very recently been painted, and it stunk of fresh paint, and as it wasn't air conditioned, the smell hung around for all 3 nights. Secondly, the TV was showing no signal on any channel. When told about this the next day a staff member checked it out and discovered that it hadn't had any scan done to tune into the available channels. After about 20 minutes, she finally got the tv receiving channels, and realized the reception was very patchy and breaking up. The reason for this was that where the antenna cable plugs in on the rear of the TV was damaged and wouldn't keep a consistent signal.
Also, the fairly new sink in the bathroom had 2 massive cracks in it. Lastly, there was only one small bench in the room to put luggage on. No other table or chair. Had to sit on the edge of the bed when using my laptop.

My Lordy, the food was amazing 😀 I had the t-bone steak with chips and salad and it was cooked to perfection 😀

I called on Friday to book a room for Sunday and upon arrival I was greeted by friendly and polite staff that are very accommodating and even received a room upgrade with no additional cost. I had an issue with the TV not connecting to the guest WiFi and when I notified the manager, Christian he offered to bring another one straight up with no hesitation although in the end it wasn't required as the issue had already fixed itself by the time they come up to sort it out.

The room I'm staying in number 4 is very spacious and has beautiful views overlooking the Wynyard wharf and is a short distance walk to gutteridge gardens which is a lovely little place to take your family and even have events on at their auditorium, I will definitely be recommending the Wharf Hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay for a good price. Very happy with my stay and looking forward to a counter meal for tea.
