Tried the Shepale. It's not an ale, it's minced chicken fried with mash & coleslaw. Not bad for a quiet lunchtime pub meal. Best washed down with a real ale.

Arrived at 7.30pm on a Friday night. The place wasn't too crowded yet, but we were informed of a 30min wait for our food orders to arrive. We didn't mind and proceeded to pay upon ordering our food and drinks. I ended up waiting an hour for our food to arrive, but once it did. My fish burger came out as a tofu burger instead. To my dismay, the service staff apologised and said they would replace it, but that ended up being another 30min wait. All in all, I waited 1.5 hours for a mediocre tasting fish burger which was pricey for what it was. The chips were overly salted and burger bread oily. I left the burger half eaten, and the wait ultimately marred my overall experience dining here- which is a shame, considering it would've been a great vibe.

We were also sat in the indoor dining area, but it had a very strong wafts of cigarette odour, which is strange, considering no smoking rules should've applied in indoor and outdoor dining areas. This pub has potential, but sadly a miss for me.

Practically all menu items had tasty vegan options, pub itself has old charm with candles and two fireplaces, and they regularly rotate the taps

Authentic inner city pub with decent food and drinks plus regular live bands. Though food is mostly limited to burgers with one outstanding extra. Family introduced us to Poutine here mid 2023 and it was excellent - we've been back a few times since just for that. I couldn't really give 5 stars for food given limited menu, but that pushed it to 4!

Great to sit at the tables on the footpath in the summer, perhaps a little noisy inside at busy times unless you like that sort of thing. Worth a visit if you enjoy inner Melbourne. (Did I mention the Poutine?)

Really really good burgers! I tried the Deluxe burger and had a lager. The meat patty was juicy and flavourful. Generous filling.

The place has a good feel to it; the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Burgers were on point! Class.
Recommend for a great burger, good beer or wine, or a chilled out cocktail. A venue for all.

Unassuming casual joint with fantastic burgers at a very reasonable price. Great way to spend a scary Sunday afternoon.

Live round the corner from here & given it a few chances but tonight was the last time. Female bar worker with long greying hair was next level rude, unfriendly & contemptuous. Wine was poured like a science experiment & poured under the line- definitely not worth what was charged. PLUS the most bizarre 'none music' you could ever hear- total buzz kill. Left after 1 glass & sadly won't be back & would not recommend.

Great location, reasonably priced and delicious burgers! The service needs some improvement as my orders have been stuffed up a few times, but the tasty food is worth it.

Apparently it's normal for a burger and polenta chips to take more than 45 minutes. Staff rude and argumentative. Make sure you bring the right North Fitzroy arrogance with you if you want reasonable service.

I have loved the Tramway for a long time. It's always relaxed and unpretentious, the food is good and they always have an excellent selection of beer on tap.

I have to say though, since the weird COVID hiatus we have all just taken, the Tramway has upped its food game big time.

This place has arguably the best poutine in Melbourne, and their burgers are so good!

Cannot recommend highly enough!

I made a booking for a table with instructions that we were coming to watch the gig, and was sent a reminder the day before asking to confirm (which I did). I turned up and no table had been reserved, and the only available table was right next to the stage and speaker. This was not suitable for my family as my kids were upset by how loud it was (yes my problem), but ironically the only other table available in the other room was "reserved". The staff member I spoke with was unapologetic, and said she did not reserve us a table in the band room because the other tables seated 8 people (my booking was for 4). One of these 8 seater tables was occupied by only 2 blokes the whole time we were there. We had great intentions to enjoy drinks, dinner and the music- sadly this venue failed to honor our booking or offer an alternative beyond ear plugs for the kids. We left.

My partner and I went to Tramways hotel for takeaway. My partner has serious allergies. We asked for fir some really standard alterations to her meal to ensure she didn't have an allergic reaction. When we got home it became clear that Tramways did not indicate which burger had the alterations and which didn't.

We went back to Tramways to ask for clarification and it turned out both burgers had some of the alterations but neither was actually what we ordered or suitable for someone with allergies. The burgers we not really made again, some parts were mixed around to end up with what we ordered. The result being my partner wasn't able to eat her meal.

People with allergies can't risk contamination. Most restaurants actually understand this.

Additionally, after ordering, Tramways told us it would be 10 minutes but it was over 30 minutes. Throw in the trip back to Tramways, the total process took over 1 hour 15 minutes. I would not recommend this bar if you have any food allergies they just won't take you seriously.

The burgers were okay, but no Coopers and too many Craft Beers. A bit OTT on checking vaccination certificates too. I was asked 2-3 times whilst there, even though I had been "marked"

Great place with friendly barkeeps. A real treasure next to Edinburgh Park with a great beer selection. Bartenders are also really knowledgeable about the various booze options and will be more than happy to school ya ???" The food is excellent and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Put simply, you'll love this neighborhood gem ?
