I am editing this review due to giving them another go. Service was good, the menu had ran out of a few things but we were informed as soon as we arrived so we didn't waste time with the menus. Everyone meal was good, I had a parmi and was beautiful.

Went for dinner, no menus available staff were commenting on our lack of ordering while just sitting at our table behind the bar to themselves. Seemed to be understaffed, long wait times on meal, fisherman's basket was poor quality, very over cooked. Another meal was forgotten and when questioned about it the wrong steak was brought to the table, apon notifying staff they took the steak and immediately brought the right meal out and plonked it in front of the customer. A lot of selections on the menu unavailable, disappointing as have heard good reviews in the past

Have always bypassed - but after a friend suggested that I stop and try, today was tempted to call in at the Cafe for lunch. Cannot be fault the service from the friendly and professional staff. Meal was served promptly and all ingredients used were fresh. Steak sandwich and side of fries was more then ample to satisfy. Black coffee was also excellent. View over the lake was misty due to rain. However complimented the Cafe. Don't bypass - call in. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent food options. Staff is friendly and professional. Smooth check-ins and check-outs. Might be amazing to have more vegetarian and halal options in the menu since this is a great tourist spot.

Just happened to be passing at lunchtime and heading to that nights accommodation.
Wow, was stopping a good idea. The lodge is great and the view even better.
The log fire was going and the kitchen was cranking out great toasted sandwiches.
Couldn't believe how much GF was on offer.

Really nice place, beautiful atmosphere in the bar area with the fireplaces and in the dining area. Dinner was nice, so is breakfast. Really cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Only downside was the room was quite tiny and didn't have even a desk or table to put stuff on. It was very clean though.

Fantastic place to stay! Great location to access all the West Coast has to offer. We stayed in a shared family room and the beds were comfy, heaters worked well and showers were warm. Bathrooms could do with a very basic Reno, but it's a lodge after all.

The restaurant served great food and the fireplaces were wonderful. Our only feedback would be that the lighting was way too bright and made it feel a bit sterile! With some nice mood lighting it would've been a truly 5/5 experience.

So far this is my favourite place throughout our 3 months travelling Tasmania so far in caravan. Waking up every morning to the view of ever changing majestic lake was something out of a fairy tale for me. I love the way the mist comes in at night and dissipates throughout the morning. We caught our first ever Aurora at the southern end of the lake and enjoyed walking and kayaking. The lodge itself had everything we needed throughout our 9 night stay. We had a couple of meals at the lodge and all were lovely, served by helpful, friendly staff. Thanks for a great stay! Highly recommend.

Very beautiful property, with lovely and well maintained rooms. The rooms were a little noisy and we could hear everything our neighbor was doing or saying as well as people walking by. Due to the number of workers staying here, this meant an earlier then wanted wake up call.
Access to the property was easy and the guy on reception when we first arrived was absolutely lovely and very helpful.

Though our lake view room was small, it had all the essentials for a comfortable stay and well and truly encouraged you to get out and enjoy the facilities at the lodge. The food was incredible and the staff were all friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Certainly a hidden gem that we will be returning to again and again.

I'm so glad I found Tullah Lakeside lodge to stay in whilst exploring the Cradle Mountain National Park area. It's the perfect affordable location as it's only a 40-minute drive to the park, and it's located in an incredibly serene and beautiful location right on Lake Rosebery and under the shadow of Mount Murchison. Although my stay was damp and cold thanks to a hectic weather system that decided to bless the West Coast of Tassie, it didn't dampen my spirits at all as the Lodge offerings were fantastic. The room I stayed in was small but perfect for me, clean, double bed, and great bathroom. The heating was incredibly effective, and I turned it down so I wouldn't get so hot. The WiFi was better nearer to the main area but almost none existent in the room. This wasn't a concern, however, and the staff indicated they were doing upgrades to rectify it. Now the best part of this place is that it has a coin laundry, what a life saver!!! But really, the best part was the bar and restaurant, serving up incredible food here all day every day. I ate ALLOT!!! Pizzas, Parmis, soups, bennys, you name it, I ate it ?. Friendly staff all round always helpful and happy, and again great value to stay here and food wise great value for the quality you get

We ordered the Salmon fish with chips and salad. We are people who regularly dine out. So it was a surprise that we received such a small thin piece of Salmon. Fortunately I had a little chat to the boys in the kitchen who were quick to rectify their very small portion to another piece which we very much appreciated.
Nice open wood fires.
Service was quite staunch and stiff - they were trying to be friendly but looked a bit painful?
Overall we enjoyed - thankyou !

Tullah's best kept secret - this huge cafe with lots of indoor seating and great choice of food and drinks.
We only came for a breakfast - cafe entrance is actually through reception. There no sign Cafe as such, only Reception sign (maybe something management could change). On our first attempt we couldn't find the cafe despite stopping right in front of reception, later I rang the Lodge to find out where the cafe is, and we came in for a very satisfying breakfast.

Cafe has huge indoor area with huge windows and awesome view of the lake.

Great service and friendly staff. We were greeted and served by a lovely young lady.

Food came promptly, beautifully served, fresh and yummy.

To my partner's delight they had Keno.

If I happen to be in the area again I will definitely come in here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place to sit and have a drink. Has been renovated since we last went 3 years ago.. looks great. Just a shame the service behind the bar wasn't very good.. our meals came out fast. Husband had chicken chips and salad chips under cooked and cold, pepper gravy cold the chicken was good.. I had seafood basket chips cold under cooked mushroom gravy cold.. seafood disappointing and paid $7 for a small side salad. But the salad was the best part of the meal..

Enjoyed the quiet, relaxed atmosphere of the whole place. Right by the lake so easy to take a stroll around the banks of the lake and enjoy the view which is awesome. There were activities and longer walks on offer. The restaurant was good with reasonable priced and quality, pub style food. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the room was great, we had like a cabin style room within a group of others, with our own bathroom. No view, but it was only a short walk to the main bar and restuarant and picnic table area that you could sit at anytime. Enjoyed our stay and would come back next time in the area.

We booked this place as a stop over for Cradle Mountain. Booked a lake view room, had a great view but the room was very dated. The place was VERY cold, we were only given a small oil heater. The walls are paper thin, could hear other guests going to the toilet, having conversations and snoring. Not great with the miners staying there waking up so early too.

On the plus side the restaurant was good. Good value for money.

We stayed for a night (powered site).
This would be our first time to have a proper shower. Morning came and within 2 minutes the water turned into freezing water. I had just put on body wash and my head was full of shampoo. I waited 5 minutes with freezing feet as there was no bath mat. Still no warm water. I had to get dressed and used my kettle water in my camper van to wash my hair.
When we told the receptionist, she had NO compassion at all and said "you guys flew through it" - when matter of fact we didn't. Then blamed the previous users ( how is that useful?). Even if the gas tank was full, it certainly was not working.
Its the start of May and freezing. So I hope the next visitors have a better time.

Hidden at the rear of the old Hydro village in Tullah is what l can only describe as a very unassuming, hidden surprise.

The car park, cabins & reception entrance is what first greets you, although it does not have the greatest street appeal, once you step through the front door your whole perception changes.

The modern but rustic look suits the environment with a large stone fireplace in action and pieces of history scattered about the bar room and grounds.

There is plenty of indoor & outdoor seating for anyone wanting to dine, have a beer or just to catchup after work whilst working away from home.

The view out over the lake whilst the sun is setting is spectacular as was the size of the meals that were delivered in record time. For a party of 5, all the meals arrived within minutes of each other.

Recommend coming in early as the crowd that lined up to order meals made accessing the facilities a little difficult. Overcrowding due to the layout of the restaurant and bar is problematic as is the noise level.

This is a very popular establishment and we can see why.
4 Stars here tonight. If you are passing through Tullah well worth stopping in to fill your belly.

Throughly enjoyed the stay. Food, restaurant, service and location were great. We reached around 2 hour early and they graciously gave us the key which was amazing. Staff were very polite. We hired Kayak and was amazed with the rate $10 for 1 hour and $20 for 2-4 hours. We did kayak in the beautiful Tullah lake just by ourselves. Breakfast was great value and taste was great. Room was neat and had all the necessary utilities for staying. I also loved the flexibility they offer with spaces available for camping, budget room as well as executive suit with 3 sleeps. The lodge was big so you could spend an hour or so going around. Plenty of great bush walk surrounding lake. Bathroom at the restaurant had to be probably the cleanest compared to others I have been to.
