Lunched at the Tungamah Pub today. The pub was well presented with a friendly atmosphere. Now let's get to the important stuff.... LUNCH!! I had the days special.. lamb rump, it was amazing, tender, served with mash, steamed vegetables and mint just...I don't think I have had a better pub meal anywhere.. My other half had the lambs fry and bacon (?not for me thanks). I can honestly say he left nothing on the plate. He thoroughly enjoyed it.
We will be making the drive again for sure.

Not sure about the rooms but gave 4 stars to fit in with the rest of the pub. We didn't stay but we will be back for a long weekend. There is something here that the barmaid says every pub should have . But you can find it yourself. Food was tasty the service friendly. We think it would be a good place to explore further for a day or so.

We went on the silo art trail on Tuesday and had lunch at the Tungamah Hotel. The service was friendly, informative, and professional. It was souvlaki and burgers day and the Lamb Souvlaki was amazing. The lamb strips succulent, garlic sauce perfect, fresh iceberg lettuce and tomato combined in home made wraps. Delicious, beautiful food.
A visit to Tungamah Hotel is well worth it - a pub stuck in the old world with amazing food and service. Well done!

My wife and I decided to take her parents out for a pub meal for Australua Day. We went for a dtive to Tungamah, a quaint little town only a short drive from home in Benalla, to the Tungamah Pub. A beautiful old building, that you woukd typically find in much larger country towns.
It was currently undergoing a spruce up in some parts of the pub, but that didn't take away from the quality of service, food or amenities.
A nice little public bar hosting some of the locals and nearby campers. Has a great range of drinks, a little sports area boasting a pool table, a TV playing music videos of some of the classics, and donning Aussie sporting memorabilia on the walls.
You could choose to eat in the public bar or sit down in one of the two dining rooms or even out in the beer garden. Whilst there, go on out the back and give the cockatoo a pat. We were told it was over
30 years old and boy did he enjoy a pat!
The menu is great, boasting some classic pub meals like bangers and mash, steak, schnitzels, parmas, fish and chips, as well as some of the more modern classics such as bruschetta, salted calamarI, pasta, pizza, etc. There was also a kids menu with the usual suspects.
Now, don't be fooled by the extremely reasonably, in fact, low prices, as the quality of the food and the quality of the cooking is excellent,
WARNING.....The meals are huge! ?
We did notice that on the menu you could order half meals, but we never even considered that given we were all very hungry. If you can manage to eat the whole full size meal then well done!
The staff were absolutely delightly and made for a truly memorable experience. We will definitely be coming back again!
Thank you to all the staff and special thanks to the young man that cooked and served us our delicious food. We are very grateful.

Very disappointing food and service.
Once a very good place for a pub meal is now not so much.
We had booked for a birthday dinner a week in advance to only leave wishing we had chose a different destination.
6 adults and 4 kids ordered, 3 out of 4 garlic breads came out in reasonable time. 4 out of 5 steaks got sent back due to being blue/rare instead of medium/well. 2 out if 4 of the kids meals have now come out but we are still waiting on the first garlic bread, 2 kids meals and 2 other main meals. Steak returned, one the consistency of a Blundstone boot and the other still on the rare side. Thank goodness for gravy! Still no sign of the kids meals. 20mins later the 2 remaining kids meals make an appearance, followed by the remaining 2 mains (chicken snitz and a margarita pizza) and the starter of garlic bread. No apologies or anything for the mix up or delays. Don't waste your time or money.

Had a family lunch here for 8 people, on a Friday(public holiday). Meals were pretty good, generous servings and very tasty. Serve was pleasant but a bit slow, but l think the were under staffed. Would definitely come back.

Stayed at short notice on a Monday night, the pub was closed but the publican Paul opened up for me to stay and even poured a few beers and cooked a great steak.
Unbelievable hospitality and one of the best pub rooms I've stayed in even had an ensuite.
