Vulcan Hotel - Pub in Ultimo New South Wales

We stayed here one week and the cleaning staff cleaned our room just once, even if we left the cleaning sign on our door.
The breakfast was poor, without much options and sometimes because there was not enough staff the plates were empty. Also if you wanted a coffee (not the instant coffee) you needed to pay, this is not included. However the managers should improve the services and have 2 people at the breakfast every day and another one at the reception. In some days was just one guy and needed to refill the plates, make coffee and check-in the guests. Very disappointing from a 4 star hotel. The price is over rated and do not reflect the quality.

The location is very good, close to the central train station and the city center.

The staff is very nice and friendly, for sure will help and assist you when needed.

Been there for 1 whole week. The staff from reception are very friendly and nice, each and every one of them. Had 1 issue, it says that smoking is not allowed but once we got into our room, we could feel the cigarette smoke coming from the bathroom. Complained about this to the reception and they found out a solution.
Location is very good, but when it comes to other services the price does not reflect the reality, rooms are not cleaned daily, cleaning staff does not do a proper job, a bit disappointing. As for breakfast, if you want to eat something properly, there are no eggs, just some ham, salami, 1 type of cheese, bread, yoghurt, cereals, jams, muffins, tea, and the staff is overwhelmed because they have to do 3 or 4 jobs at once. For the prepared coffee you have to pay, is the first 4 star hotel finding this unusual breakfast type. I would rate this 3 star the most, it seems that the owners do not care too much about some aspects, important for others, kind of just for profit. Hats off for the reception staff as for the other, a bad taste.

Had an absolute great stay at the Vulcan Hotel. The location, friendly staff, and the free breakfast made the stay worthwhile. I was able to use my credit card points to book my stay here. Room service when needed.

- the hotel is conveniently located near the central transit station, close to other bus stops, within close proximity to Paddy's market/Chinatown/University of Sydney. Made it easy to walk to all the places I needed to be.

- staff was so welcoming! Lupita N. helped greeted/check me in and out. All the staff working the reception were exceptional and gave great recommendations for things to do nearby.

- I mainly booked my stay here because of the free breakfast. Your standard continental breakfast of toast, coffee, fruits, etc (they had vegemite which was a plus for me!)

Excellent hotel in a very convenient location. Every member of the team is very friendly, polite and welcoming. They go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable, enjoyable and memorable in Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺❤️

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The atmosphere was peaceful and perfect for relaxation. The location is quiet, which made it easy to unwind after a long day. The staff were incredibly welcoming, always greeting me with a smile and going out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Particularly Eric and Lupita, who were both so friendly and attentive, but honestly, everyone on the team was amazing. They added a lovely personal touch to the experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a calm, pleasant getaway!
