1st time I have been there and it was a cold Hobart afternoon. The bar was warm and it was happy hour so I enjoyed $5 schooners and stayed warm and comfortable. ??'???'???'?

The best part is it is in the CBD. The worst is the rooms are way outdated and there was mould and stains in the carpet. It is actually a bar and the hotel rooms are housed on the top

The food is amazing while the portions are very generous. The staff are polite yet friendly. The entire establishment is spotlessly clean, including the designated smoking areas.
Only a short walk from everything and there are bus stops on the same street.

Probably the worst "hotel" I ever stayed at. This is not even a bed and breakfast let alone a hotel. Literally just old rooms on top of a pub. The hotel reception is actually the pub cashier. Extremely awkward carrying your luggage in and out of this "hotel" through the pub floor and poker machine gaming area in full view of its patrons who often stare at you. Extremely old and run down, squeaky floorboards, loose showerhead, no air con, old uncomfortable bed, not even a microwave in room. Parking is a hassle with only a few spots available onsite and very tight maneuvering area. Off-street parking is metered during business hours with 2 hour limits. Very inconvenient if you're driving and/or if you have anything more than a small amount of luggage. There are much better motels around Hobart for around the same price. I would definitely not recommend this place, would've been better off booking myself into a hostel.

Responsible gaming tips

When playing, remember that:
  • Playing is supposed to be fun, so leave when it stops being fun.
  • Make sure you don't spend more than you intend - take how much you are happy to lose, and leave your cards at home.
  • Don't play when tired or when inebriated as this will impair your ability to play responsibly and know when to leave.
  • Know when it's time to leave - and leave.

Gaming venues in Australia are committed to facilitating responsible gambling. As well as adhering to State regulations, gaming venues may also subscribe to an industry code of conduct. You can usually find this information on their website.
