Haven't been here for many years & couldn't resist a visit. Well, what an interesting experience. We walked in via the rear car park & the place looked closed, barely any sign of life & soft lighting. Once inside, it began to improve, but bemused by the dated decor, very 70's & what you would expect from a country hotel in the Riverland. Oddly enough, it did have a certain appeal & charm to both my partner & myself. They have a new menu & it appeared worth trying. We came late & will experience their wares another time. Where we were both impressed is with the staff & very good service, they all seemed happy to be there & happy to accommodate which won us over. The glass of champagne for my partner lacked enough bubbles & immediately replaced from a fresh bottle. I didn't warm to their wine list so asked for a small bottle of soft drink. No small bottles, only a gun dispenser which I don't much like, incredibly, the young female staff offered to acquire a bottle from their drive-through bottle shop. How is that for service, & no offence, not expected from the Whitehorse Inn. We will be back, we both recommend this hotel is worth a try. Cheers.
