Woolpack Hotel, Parramatta NSW

Ok so let me begin by saying the portion sizes are massive, like massive is an understatement.
I have been going to the bistro for the past year now and I have not missed a single weekend.
I usually go for the chicken schnitzel. Let me tell you about the mushroom sauce, it is devine, it is addictive.
I have taken my partner and my friends there and they all have loved it and they make sure to come back for more.
A must try.

Nice pub with generous serving sizes for meals. Standard pub offerings, with a collect your own plate from the kitchen when the timer you're given on ordering goes off. Have seen these used in coffee shops/cafes before, but it seems slightly risky asking Nana Jean to carry her beef cheeks back to her table while managing her walking frame. Or Uncle Jeff who had a few early pints, sustain a burn as he carries his plate and sways his way back to his table. Clean, no frills, Aussie pub experience in Paramatta? Woolpack Hotel is worth it for the value for money.

Our experience at Woolpack hotel last night was incredibly disappointing. Despite going there with friends for a party, we were met with subpar service and a lack of professionalism. The staff, particularly Stafford, were not attentive or professional.

To add to the frustration, there was no food available, which is not only against regulations in Australia but also a basic expectation when serving alcohol. When we asked about food options, we were simply told that the kitchen was closed without any further assistance or alternative suggestions.

Furthermore, the security guard's behavior was commendable, but the same cannot be said for the rest of the staff. We were unjustly accused of smoking, despite not engaging in such behavior, and were abruptly asked to leave. It was evident that they were searching for any excuse to remove us from the premises.

Overall, the service was abysmal, and the lack of food options and unwarranted ejection from the establishment left a sour taste in our mouths. We certainly won't be returning anytime soon.

The food is amazing here yet it's always so quiet. Like parras best kept secret, Surf and turf, anything with cream sauce is so good. Best parmiagana i've ever had too, actually had crispy bacon on it. Prices are reasonable, old time photos of the area on the wall, love the atmosphere.

Food isn't bad here. $18 specials are a good serving. We had the steak and chicken schnitzel and were happy. The steak was a little smaller than expected but where can you get an $18 steak these days?? I tried one of their cocktails (Magnifique) and it was fair priced and delicious.
