We had a spur of the moment decision to take my octogenarian mother here for lunch and honestly the only negative thing I can say is that we didn't book. Very busy but the staff were incredibly helpful finding a spot that mum could sit. Went over and above to make her comfortable. Then when you want to talk about the food, incredible! If I can recommend anything, it's the salt and pepper squid...

We went to the Union just for a meal. The service was very good. We ordered two porterhouse steaks, both medium-rare. One was perfectly cooked, but the other was past medium. The steaks were cut quite thin, so they lacked the tender juiciness I was hoping for. This was disappointing, especially for someone who is mostly carnivore. The garlic butter was great, and the chips were perfect.

We will give it another try and hope for a better result next time.

We have visited the hotel twice in 2 days and been very impressed both visits with your lovely waitress Hannah. As visitors to the area with a dog, Hannah made us all feel incredibly welcome, she was so friendly and very helpful on our first visit so much so we decided to come back this evening and have an evening meal at the hotel. The food Hannah suggested was...absolutely delicious! ? What a great pub, we loved the modern decor, the great friendly service, and also the great food, we highly recommend this fabulous hotel to all! ??????????

The food was fantastic. We ordered Chicken Parma and the lamb rack. Juicy, full of flavour and well presented. Attentive staff checked in with us.

Bar stocked cocktails, wine and spirits.

Rear of the pub/restaurant a huge area for children to play with swings, zip line, climbing walls.

Great location, fantastic playground for the kids, ambiance is lovely a real country pub feel. The food is good and the menu has a broad selection. I had an issue with my steak and the staff made sure this was resolved quickly.

A very disappointing experience at this pub. There were several mix ups throughout the night, including rissoles arriving without bacon and a medium-well cooked steak arriving rare (and returning medium-rare). The staff member advised us to "order a steak well-done in future to avoid the steak coming out rare". To top off the night, we were pounced on at the end of the evening by the same staff member, to be charged $9 for 2 x babychinos (with no marshmallows or chocolate powder). The staff member explained they were $4.50 each despite us questioning the price for these. Even after we found the menu on the website which was evidence of a babychino costing $1 each and in fact it was a cappuccino which costs $4.50, the staff member was still more interested in playing about on the tablet trying to work out where the mix up occurred than providing us with an apology and a refund. Overall, a very disappointing experience in comparison to the last visit. Sadly (especially for the children), we will not return to this venue.

Always take the time to head here for lunch or dinner within the area. Have had some ripping times with family and friends and the kids always love having free range of the playground. Window table in the best to keep an eye on the kids, though when the weather is turning it on book out the back.

Lunch menu was not very adventurous but the food was fresh, hot and tasty.

I hadn't been here for 15+ years and wow, what a difference. The pub is very well decked out and the materials used look so classy and compliment everything very well.
And the outdoor play area for kids , absolutely amazing!!!!!
Its just a diamond in the rough this pub, it's got a great atmosphere, the bar staff were great to deal with and cold beer with good food. Compliments to the owner/s , it's awesome ?

If you are down Warnambool way, take the drive to Woolsthorpe , you won't be disappointed.

Had an absolute awesome Sunday afternoon/evening at the Union Hotel on the long weekend. From the Front Bar to the back yard and outdoor entertainment area it was great, really enjoyable live music while kicking back on the lush green grass, very relaxing atmosphere and the staff were personable accommodating as well. The meals were large and tasty and where on our table in no time. Definitely will return to this place in the future. Loved it!

This place is one of the best country pubs left. The proprietors are lovely and the people are so welcoming. Such a lovely place they have outside area with pit fire chef is great. Call onto this place you will enjoy the serenity and the company of good people...

We have been on the lookout for a new place for our weekly dinner out. In recent times, it's been difficult to find a good fit in town.
We found great service and a well put together menu with all the classics, and we found it in Woolsthorpe.
Also, the attention given to the local wine list added to the experience has been carefully put together with local wines bolstered by some strong regional wines complementing the local selection.

My search is over, and I will definitely be back again.

Nice country pub feel with great area for kids out the back. Shared a few meals - the vegetarian special wasn't anything to write home about whilst the hot chips weren't quite right, but the trio of dips and accompanying garlic pizza was sensational. Good selection of drinks on offer and standard pub prices.

After listening to so many reports of this hotel we finally found time to visit. Perhaps the varied stories had our expectations too high, but the reality is it's JUST pub grub. Nice location and efficient staff but gastronomically nothing beyond average.

Went for a Saturday lunch. Meals were large portions made with quality ingredients. Only downside was unfortunately the chef didn't quite hit the mark. Although the meals looked fantastic they were lacking in one way or another. Slow cooked brisket special was delicious but only half a roast potatoe and 3 massive roast beetroots with a couple of parsnips. It needed less beetroot more potatoes. Other couple of things that the other members of the party noted but all in all still good meals and large sizes. Will be going back as the chef may have had an off day.

We had lunch there yesterday and the food was fabulous couldn't fault it, the best we have had in a very long time and fantastic size meals.The customer service was the best, everyone was so helpful and cheerful. Would recommend without a doubt, if you don't go you are missing a wonderful food experience.

Almost crying on the spot.
We booked a table for 7 and came on time at 13.00 for lunch. It was on weekend and pretty packed. We had to wait 1.5 hours for the meals. We ordered pretty basic foods but still have to wait for ages. By the time we got the food, some of our friends already died of hunger lol. Nevertheless , the Union Station Beef scotch fillet steak was amazingly delicious. I didn't know that was a tear of joy or just hungry :")

Beautiful food, in a fantastic building. One of the best play areas for children in the region. Ample parking and excellent customer service. Good as a local watering hole as well as a good meal for couples and families.

Absolutely beautiful meals. Staff were all friendly and polite. The upgrades performed on this old pub are fantastic. It looks amazing and even though the place was fully booked, we could hear ourselves talk. 3 steaks, garlic prawns and a pasta all cooked to perfection.

I was so surprised with the food and service. I will be returning again. ( ps if you have young kids - it may be even better with the playground out the back )

We did not stay the night, just came for lunch for a 70th birthday.

40 people booked. No complaints.
The food was very very generous, you will not leave hungry. Even the Garlic Bread was enough to be claimed as a main.

The cost compared to the amount and taste was very on point, a little more expensive than other places around Melbourne Suburbs, however this is a very beautiful place, a massive playground and an actual jumping castle, (not sure if it is permanent) with a very well built walkway to the playground with a flying fox. The kids were entertained for hours.

Small pub area in the front for just a beer, and dinner service area in the back that can fix probably 100-120 people.

The servers were very lovely, and did not leave your table dirty until you leave, which made you feel like they wanted you to stay for as long as you wish.

Once again, absolutely superb.
The eye fillet with garlic prawns was top shelf and the coffees to go where spot on.

The place looks great inside and out. The playground is great for kids. The staff are friendly and helpful. We all had a meal and everyone was very happy with their choice. I had fish and chips and there was plenty and tasted great. Will definitely be going back.
