1st chicken parmi was cold, sent it back the next one came back with a hair on it that I only noticed half way into the meal ? Hubby's chips were cold and snitz only lukewarm...
Staff are amazing but venue set up is crazy with live music right behind us while trying to eat our shitty meals...

Dropped in for a quick meal after a big day, service was quick and food was quick. We had ordered Beef snitzel parmigiana, chicken Hawaiian, beef snitzel with plain gravy no salad and chicken snitzel with plain gravy no salad. When meals arrived our chips and gravy were cold, the parmigiana had not much flavour, the chicken snitzels crumb on the outside was burnt and the beef snitzel that came out with plain gravy was meant to be an adults snitzel and the size was the size of my daughters palm.

We love dining at the Grand Hotel in Huonville. The meals are great, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is fantastic.
We regularly dine here however recently we also held a large function in the private dining room and it was absolutely brilliant! The meals were served quickly despite the large number of orders at once, the food was great as always and the effort that the hotel staff put into setting up our venue was wonderful. We had the best time.

We ordered a simple lunch, pumpkin soup, chips and garlic bread.
Now, the staff were great, the place was clean, the atmosphere with locals was great.
The pumpkin soup was tepid at best, took ages to be ready, it was flavourless, water floating on the top, it was mostly water!
I don't expect much with country hotel food, however this was sub par! The main meals looked very large and pleasant to bad about wanting a simple soup lunch.

Was having mechanical troubles with our car and had to stay in Huonville over a public holiday weekend. The staff were very welcoming and took care of us. A lovely local looked at the vehicle for us while we waited for the mechanic to open the next day. Food was good with generous portions (half sizes offered for a reason). Thanks guys.

Heading into the country we had always intended to lunch at The Grand Hotel. Booking was made and a request for a window seat which was ready and waiting on our arrival. We were intending to have their famous scallops until we spotted Lobster on the Specials Board. That sealed the deal for us and we were very happy indeed when the meals arrived. It was prepared to perfection and also included the occasional scallop and prawn. We ate in the Grand Dining Room which gives a pleasant outlook over to the river. Service was very efficient and welcoming from all staff members who assisted us. Can't wait to go back again.

The food was hearty, filling and satisfying. the lamb was slightly overcooked but the roast veggies were perfect. The mint sauce was a lovely surprise, my husband could not fault the T Bone, and my sons chicken parmy was a little dry but still delicious.

We had a great counter meal lunch today in the dinning room. Food was great, fresh and delicious. Great service from serving staff as well

Great place for lunch, dinner, a quick coffee, and a chat... or just to unwind from a tough day.
You can't go wrong with visiting the Grand Hotel.

Stopped by for a counter meal on a Sunday.
The bar staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is 100% traditional Australian pub and oozes "local".
The menu comprises everything you need to transport you back to a simpler time with good honest pub-grub: steaks, schnitzels, roast of the day and (my favourite) Mixed grill.
Generous servings at old world prices.
So glad we've found this place, as we'll be back again for sure.

Nice pub lunch with lots of menu options. The place was full & we had a big booking but service was fast & friendly. Portion sizes were huge!

We visited the Grand Hotel in Huonville for lunch with a large group of around 20 people. Our meals were brought out quite quickly. Meals were very fresh, well cooked,affordable and of a good size. Staff were excellent and very helpful.

Clean comfortable and very good value. Welcoming staff and good service. Lovely old style decor.

In the midst of a pandemic just seemed absurd.
Most pubs in Tassie have welcomed us with open arms.
Not this one ignored when we entered not asked to sign in had to ask where we could eat etc

Had a birthday there. The stuff were extremely helpful and the food was very nice.

Substandard meals. They might be large but that doesn't make them good. They shouldn't even consider frozen veggies suitable for pub food.

We've travelled around Tasmania for the past 8 days, from Port Arthur, Coles Bay, Cape Grim and Cradle Mountain and as far as value for money is concerned this place takes the cake (wins) generous tasty meals at good prices, and fair priced drinks. staff were lovely and happy to share local knowledge. First visit to The Grand. The lady who served us was friendly & made us feel welcome and comfortable. Dining room has had a facelift during 2020 & is a pleasant place to dine as a result. Dinner is from 5 to 7:30pm in winter months & they like to take reservations. I'd like to view the accommodation... but another time maybe. The meals themselves are good pub meals. I was able to find a grilled chicken main & a tasty apple & rhubarb dessert (gf). We will return. ?
