Such a cute little town. A nice country pub with friendly staff. I drove from Gunnedah for a pie because there are no good pie shops there. I was not disappointed. I got a Cheeseburger pie and it weighed at leaf half a kg. I don't mind paying $9 for a pie if it's good value. The selection was large and the flavours were interesting, they had a meat lovers which I will get next time. I would recommend getting a spoon because I made a real mess of it. It may have held together if the base had been cooked a little more but I'm still super happy I make the 40k round trip.

Second time we have stayed at this country hotel. Purchased around 4 years ago by the current owners, it has a good menu, great country vibe and accommodation upstairs. Friendly locals, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely green grass to park the van. Hotel meals were really good. Lucky to be able to use showers and toilets.

Over priced @ $140 per night for a Donga that was dirty, uncleaned. Had only 1 coffee mug, 1 glass hand full of tea bags (uncovered) for 2 people. No milk for coffee/tea. No hand towels or bath mat All the dongas were booked for a party some of the dongas had no toilet paper or soap. Spew mark on the carpet near bed when we arrived. Price was disgusting. Also rooms in hotel was also overpriced $80 per night. One of the rooms had no curtains or blinds. Shared bathroom which was used for a permanent resident with all their cosmetics etc Great pub hope they lift their act.

Great place to stay, they are doing it up at the time we stayed 2 weeks ago. My son still talking about our big entree garlic pizza for dinner!

Beautiful old pub that feels like the family run businesses I grew up around, wholesome and fun. Also the pizza here is enormous.

Cold beer and great food friendly people

We lived in Curlewis for 12 months, in that time went to the pub atleast once a fortnight. Having both lived all over the world and around Australia can genuinely say the meals are the BEST pub meals we have EVER eaten. Highly recommend the steak sandwich, calamari and pizzas! GREAT value for quality, well presented and large serving size. Every "city slicker" guest we brought here loved it. We normally got takeaway meals, but also found the pub area to be incredibly friendly (to non locals), very homely feel. Nice area out the back for the kids to run while you are eating. Bar and kitchen staff are FANTASTIC and lovely, always happy to strike up a conversation! Wish we could bring the pub with us when we go. Do yourself a favour and go here!!!
